GM Mongoose and new pcm's?

Will the GM version of the mongoose allow a new pcm to be reprogrammed via TIS2 web?

I have experience using the TIS2web and the tech 2 scan tool to "replace and reprogram" new pcms to vehicles via the handheld method. I guess the question is does the cable come with the required drivers for tis2web to program an empty pcm with the passthru method.

Yes -- tis2web works great, I work for drewtech and retest it with tis2web every month. See www.tis2web.com for details. Mongoose comes with the SAE J2534 standard drivers (for free) which is all you need tis2web. If you have any questions just call for technical support. We're closed for Thanksgiving, but available by phone monday thru friday any other week.

I will caution that GM is having trouble with vehicle antitheft modules in the current version of TIS software (fyi, this is posted Nov 2007). But I've never had trouble any other features including replace-and-reprogram especially for the powertrain modules.

Perfect, that's just what I needed to know.

I work at a tuner shop that does mainley domestic vehicles. I recently left a GM dealership as a tune/driveability tech after 15 years and am without my Tech 2.

The reason I need something similar is to program a new pcm for a corvette that we need to do some custom tuning to. The current pcm was tuned by another shop and locked to block any other access to it and they refuse to unlock it for the customer.

All I need to do is program anothe pcm back to stock with all the correct operating systems and calibrations as a starting point.

Is Drewtech open at all this week? I need to get a cable and the software asap. I already have access to Tis2web.

You can get the Mongoose for GM here (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DT-M-VPWCAN)(less expensive than direct from Drew) and yes, it can ship directly from Drew Tech, from the same stock and ship Tuesday.
