unknown part number

i just bought a used bully dog and went to load it into the truck and it started to download, then it says unknown part number. i went to bull dog website and loaded then newest update and still got the same thing. any ideas. what does it say if its vin locked?

Are you certain what it said was "unknown part number" ?

That's a new one on me, the problem message we normally see if it's VIN locked is that the vehicle is not recognized, not the part number

i'm 95% sure of that. it says in the manual if that error message comes up then update the version so i did and it still there, what do they say if there vin locked?

The only message I've ever seen was that the tuner was unable to recognize the vehicle. Have never seen unknown part number.

I'm afraid you may need to just call Bully Dog on Monday
