I have a John Deere PowerTech E Model 6068HF285 diesel engine used in a generator for primary power. The engine came with its own ECU and I wanted to know if the Engine Knock Alert (Product ID MSD-8964 (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MSD%2D8964)), TurboXS KnockLite w/ Bosch Knock Sensor (Product ID TXS-KNOCK), (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TXS%2DKNOCK)or the Gizzmo Kmon (Product ID GZM-G0001) (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GZM%2DG0001) will work for my application?

The MSD Knock Alert (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MSD%2D8964) is intended for permanent installation as the knock sensor needs to be drilled and tapped into a water jacket.
The TurboXS knock light & sensor (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TXS%2DKNOCK) can be installed and removed easily, the only indication you get however is the light.
The KMon system (http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GZM%2DG0001) logs data to your laptop or if it can be set up to output a 0-5v analog signal which can feed into another system. It's quite expensive for permanent installation however and is intended as a temporary system used during tuning.
