You guys aware of any ECU equipment that will open these up for reflashing? I'll see if we can't get it. At the moment, it's UPsolute and I still need to negotiate terms with them.
I may have understood Justin's question differently...

I think he was wondering what equipment / software would allow him to adjust AFR & Timing on his own... Many of us are pretty hip to the off-the-shelf reflash programs and discovered that most of them are the same maps that were generated by Bosch for the MB W112 engine, just being marketed by different companies eg. Upsolute, Powerchip, etc...

Lloyd, perhaps you can expound upon my semi-educated answer to Justin's question and correct any errors as well as list the equipment P/N's...

Justin, if I understand your question correctly, you will need a couple of things to do this. Obviously the first is a PC laptop with the appropriate connection ports DB9 Serial, or USB depending on the configuration of the peripheral equipment you purchase.

You will need a device to interface communicate with the OBD port (ELMSCAN) or similar that will communicate with the ISO-14230 protocol. You will need some flavor of data logging software (PCMSCAN) works good for me so far...

Depending on your exhaust configuration, if you have the OEM set-up (2 into 1), you will need a wide band 02 sensor with some sort of interface / data logging software so you can view the AFR. You will need a piggyback system to adjust AFR and Timing independent of the OEM ECU/PCM.

That being said, I'm sure Lloyd can post a laundry list of equipment options that will suit the process and correct any of my errors...

"...You will need a piggyback system to adjust AFR and Timing independent of the OEM ECU/PCM"
Sorry, I assumed we were looking for a way to connect directly into the ECU for reflashing the maps. Piggy Backs are available from GReddy, Apexi and AEM easily enough. The first couple of attempts tuning one to one of these Crossfires should be done in collaboration with a local speedshop & dyno testing. Once some base lines are established, it would be rather easy to pass that file around among your crew here and make the tweaks necessary for each car, especially if you're running the AFR set up HDDD describes above.
    Cheers,

Albany, welcome to the Tuner Tools forums.
I know that performance pieces for the Crossfire are a little more rare than some other cars, but please let us know when you see something out there that we ought to be aware of or a line of products we should pick up.
Feel free to post some pictures of you car Member Rides & Miscellaneous section.
    Cheers,

Welcome to the Crossfire Community and the Tuner Tools forum... It's a slow process finding performance products that will work with our cars, but in the long run, it will be very worthwhile... Keep visiting this forum and the Crossfire forum for updates... Woody has built a new GIZMO that I am going to be testing on my race car when it arrives from London...

I'll keep everyone posted with the results...
