Since many top tuners already use Innovate Motorsports tools, the OT-1 OpenTune system allows customers and tuners to collaborate with one another by exchanging log files directly from Logworks. OpenTune works on every vehicle manufactured since 1996, making it the first high-speed scanner/logger for many makes, including Subaru*, Chrysler*, Mitsubishi*, Honda*, Toyota*, and Nissan*, as well as being the most powerful and affordable scanner available for Ford* and GM* applications. When Innovate Motorsports released the first affordable pro-quality wideband O2 air fuel ratio sensor kits in 2003, tuners started to realize the value of having timely and accurate vehicle air fuel ratio data to analyze. Back then many people didn’t even know what Air Fuel Ratio was let alone the differences between wideband, narrowband, analog or digital, but now few serious enthusiasts would tune without at least one wideband O2 sensor and a system to capture the air fuel ratio, data logging and analysis of important correlating data. Now with OpenTune and the Modular Tuning System you can build the components you need to gather a multitude of other critical performance parameters, such as ignition timing, transmission temperatures, coolant temperatures, vehicle speed, mass air flow, mass air pressure, intake air temperature, turbo boost, fuel trim, fuel pressure, engine knock, etc. When it comes to tuning a performance engine right, think air fuel ratio, air fuel ratio, and AIR FUEL RATIO! got it? Then add the 100 or so additional sensor information using the Innovate Motorsports OpenTune System and connect everything together with the Modular Tuning System (MTS) standard protocol and analyze all your data in one place with Logworks software! If you are considering using a custom tune or the use of a Diablosport Predator, Superchips, Edge, Hypertech or other “chip tuner” to replace your stock tune, you should consider data acquisition. With the Innovate Motorsports OpenTune system, you can log very detailed data prior to making any modifications. Then, after modifying, you log additional data and compare. This allows you to see what’s being changed, by how much, if the changes are safe for your engine, and where you might find room for additional improvement. Most late-model cars and light trucks do not have a wideband oxygen sensor, but they DO have about 100 other sensors that gather very useful information that OpenTune can take advantage of. Instead of duplicating these sensors externally, the OpenTune interface allows you to directly access these existing sensors. The OT-1 is a fully-compliant Innovate MTS device, so it can drive XD-16 gauges, log to DL-32 recorders, and integrate fully-synchronous data with Innovate widebands and other sensor controllers.
