Tiny Tuner Vs Edison Comparison

Tiny Tuner

Edison

Cost: $399
ECU Only, Flying Lead basic harness available $100
Cost: est $699-$799
ECU only, Flying Lead basic harness available $150. Premium harness with fuse box or power control options starting at $275
The Tiny Tuner is inteded as a cost effective and basic 4 channel ECU. Limited and fixe analog inputs, but with a large number of PWM outputs. This is based on speeduino (UA4C) firmware

This ECU is more suited for "basic" setups without the need for a lot of flexibility and using supported triggers.  Some setting may require the user to open the ECU case and move a jumper.

No interal logging or canbus (requires external controllers/3rd party). Hardware is slower than Edison and uses a less complex fuel model.
The Edison is a cost effective but flexible and "full featured" ECU based on RusEFI firmware.  Capable of control for 6 cylinder ECUs and more basic 8 cylinder applications.

Supporting Drive-by-wire and more complex control models this ECU allows for more flexible control of you engine and periphrials.  Supporting functions like Traction Control, Throttle-Mass-Flow,  Torque managment/reduction and more.

Supports Automatic transmission (may be  output restricting!) and integration with RusEFI and other controllers for modern Trans Control (GM 8L, 8HP, GM 6L, etc)  Supports use of the MicroSquirt IO box for trans control or additional I/O.

Features internal logging (onboard SD card accessible via USB connection) and CanBus. Custom LUA scripting allows complex control and flexibility

Outputs

Outputs

Injectors 4 Sequential 4 cylinder, Semi Seqential up to 8 Injectors 6 to 8 6 Dedicated, 2 PWM outputs can be repurposed for 8 cylinder sequential
Ignition 4 Sequential 4 cylinder, Wasted Spark up to 8 (Logic Level - requires smart coil or igniter) Ignition 6 Sequential 6 cylinder, Wasted Spark up to 12 (Logic Level - requires smart coil or igniter)
Digital PWM 4 High Current w/ Flyback (low side) Boost, VVT, Idle, etc Digital/PWM 4 High current w/ flyback (low side) Boost, VVT, Idle, Aux PWM control -  Injectors  7 & 8 repurpose 2 of these outputs
8 Low current (low side) - basic switching (relays, tach, etc) 2 Low current outputs (no flyback) for relays and basic control
4 Stepper Control output (all 4 required for stepper. NOT DBW Capable) 2 H-Bridge controllers (4 outputs total) Capable of 2 electric throttle bodies, wastegate controller or stepper idle motor
Output function software selectable. General Purpose outputs limited to basic boolan logic. Outputs can be reassigned based on logic pin (Unused Inj and Ign outputs can be used as outputs) Output function sotware selectable. Includes 4 general purpose PWM tables with user definable axis (3D). More complex control available via LUA scripting. Un-used Inj/Ign outputs can be used as low side outputs

Inputs

Inputs

Knock NO   Knock 1 Single channel knock input - can be repurposed for digital in
VSS 2 ~Dedicated single VSS input, digital (hall) only (VR requires external conditioner)
~Second input can be assigned for speed, firmware only supports single speed source
VSS YES Via trigger/Digital inputs. 4 wheel speed possible
Flex Fuel Yes Dedicate Input Flex Fuel Yes Dedicated input, can be reassigned
Switched Inputs 1 Default Launch, Can be re-purposed Switched Inputs 3 3 dedicated switch/button inputs (all digital inputs can also be used as switch inputs)
Inputs are (generally) fixed function. Limited user definable inputs by firmware.
Inputs are software definable. Pins have recommended labels, but all inputs (other than onboard Map) can be defined to any function supported by the input
